Signal Processing and Embedded Systems Laboratory

Directory Category: Core

The Signal Processing and Embedded Systems laboratory is an emerging research lab at the department of Electrical and Computer Engineering that will support ECE faculty and students for their research needs. There is a constant need for designing systems with lower power, higher speed and less space with higher processing power. Digital Signal Processing (DSP) applications are becoming more prevalent in everyday use and DSP ‘s are new player in this demanding scientific field. Well-educated qualified competitive DSP engineers are very highly demanded throughout the industry and consumer market. Therefore, we set our goal to develop and establish a modern research laboratory to teach, train engineering graduate students in Digital Signal Processing (DSP) and embedded systems to prepare them competitive professional life. Beside that, SPESL will encourage scientists and research associates around the UAB research labs, as well as from UAB-Hospitals to collaborate with our lab to have support from our experienced faculties and engineers. SPESL Engineers can help you in design of your custom applications, which involves electrophysiological data acquisition, signal/noise filtering, and unique signal processing as such. Our engineers and staff can help you also design, develop and also fabricate custom electronics for your research requirements.
