After completing his Bachelor of Science degree from The University of Alabama, John pursued and earned his Juris Doctorate from Faulkner University’s Thomas Goode Jones School of Law, where he gained extensive experience in contract interpretation, legal research, and compliance analysis. His legal training forms the foundation of his work at UAB, where he contributes depth and precision to the contracting process.
John currently serves as a Contracts Officer with the UAB Academic Research Organization – Clinical Trials. In this role, facilitates the negotiation, review, and execution of industry-sponsored and investigator-initiated clinical trial agreements, research contracts, confidentiality agreements, and amendments. His background strengthens his ability to evaluate complex contractual terms, identify regulatory considerations, and support risk mitigation efforts. He works collaboratively with faculty investigators, legal counsel, and industry sponsors to ensure each agreement aligns with institutional requirements and federal standards while facilitating efficient study activation.
