Nomination Process
Submit a Nomination
Nominations for recognition can be submitted at any time throughout the year using the form linked below.
Eligibility
Any employee across UAB’s campus is welcome to nominate a member of the Office of Research team (no self-nomination).
Core Values
Nominations should demonstrate alignment with UAB’s core values, with additional qualities such as leadership, innovation, or creativity included when relevant.
Quarterly Review
Recognition occurs quarterly in January, April, July, and October. All nominees are acknowledged each quarter.
Quarterly Standout
One individual will be selected as the Quarterly Standout for one of three categories: Kudos, Leadership, or Ignite.
CARE Award
Annually, one of the quarterly standouts will be honored with the CARE Award, representing the highest level of recognition.
Recognition
Digital Wall
Recognized employees are featured on the “Who’s A Blazin” digital wall, including their name, department, nomination summary, and recognition period.
Shared Platforms
Standout nominations are highlighted through email and shared on platforms like Research Matters, eReporter, and the OOR website.
Town Halls
Additional recognition is provided through announcements at staff meetings and town halls.
