We have two SF424 updates to share:
Summary of Updates
- SciENcv attachment errors in SF424 10.10.0 testing. If you are receiving eRA validation errors for SciENcv attachments, you must regenerate them due to an expired certificate.
- Upcoming SF424 10.10.1 release. A new version will be released to support changes to the Assistance Listing Number format from Grants.gov.

Item 1: SF424 10.10.0 Testing – SciENcv Attachments
Issue
Some users testing SF424 10.10.0 are receiving eRA validation errors indicating missing SciENcv attachments, even when they were uploaded.
Cause
SciENcv-generated attachments include embedded certificates. One of these certificates expired on March 20, 2026, making any attachments generated before that date invalid for NIH validation. Solution Regenerate SciENcv attachments to ensure valid certificates.

Additional Guidance
- Each key person must have:
o A SciENcv account
o A valid ORCID account linked to SciENcv (or you can manually enter a ORCID ID)
- SciENcv does not offer a test environment. Use production SciENcv and ORCID to generate attachments.
- To pass ORCID validation in eRA UAT:
o Manually enter the key person's sandbox ORCID ID in SciENcv when generating the SciENcv attachments
o Submit a help desk ticket to eRA to request backend updates to map test users to their production ORCID IDs

Item 2: SF424 10.10.1 – Assistance Listing Number Update
Background
Grants.gov sent out an announcement to the Grant Applicant Community on 3/20/2026 to inform the community that they will be updating the Assistance Listing Number format in early April 2026 to support alphanumeric program codes (previously numeric only).
Impact
Huron SF424 accepts the ##.### format, which is numeric only. For SF424 to accept the new alphanumeric format, the current validation that checks the format will need to be updated.
Solution
We will release SF424 10.10.1 to support this change by updating validation logic for Assistance Listing Numbers.
Timeline
Expected release: within the next week.

· You must be on SF424 10.10.0 to apply SF424 10.10.1
· Without this update, Assistance Listing Number validation will fail for new formats
· This is a small, targeted update with minimal implementation effort

Platform update installation (e.g., Microsoft critical security updates) and network maintenance.
Summary:
On Saturday, April 18th, 2026, Huron plans to conduct scheduled monthly maintenance between 1:30 PM – 11:30 PM CST. Huron Hosting will be installing Platform Updates (e.g., Microsoft Critical Security Updates) on all hosted servers in our datacenter. Each individual server will be down for a short period of time (15 minutes or less) while the server reboots after the updates are installed. Additionally, network maintenance will take place during the window that may briefly affect inbound/outbound connectivity over the internet, and internal server-to-server connectivity.

The SF424 will be upgraded to version 10.10.1 after business hours on April 9, 2026. This upgrade includes over 15 enhancements, including improved handling of SciENcv attachments.

Portal SmartForm Button Layout Update (Chrome/Edge browsers) (Resolved)
Summary:
After a recent Google Chrome / Microsoft Edge update, SmartForm action buttons (Exit, Save, Continue, etc.) may display vertically (stacked) instead of horizontally for some users. This is a cosmetic display issue—SmartForm functionality is not impacted.
Huron will deploy an update across our SaaS and Hosted environments after business hours this Thursday 3/19 to remediate this issue. No downtime is required.
If you are seeing the vertically stacked buttons after the update is applied, please refresh your browser to pick up the change. You may also perform a hard refresh (Shift+F5) or clear your browser cache.

Agreement Amendment Title Character Limit
Description:
Error message in Agreements.
Summary:
Users may encounter an error when attempting to amend an agreement record if the agreement title is too long. The system requires space to add the prefix “Amendment to” when processing an amendment. Because the total title length cannot exceed 255 characters, the original title must be 238 characters or fewer to avoid this error.
If you receive this error, you may submit a ServiceNow ticket with the revised, shortened title so it can be updated.
