Recent students in the Biotechnology program created a team to work on a new treatment for Parkinson's disease that would be easier to take and nontoxic in humans. Working together, they found that IPX-750 and IPX-760 reduced α-synuclein aggregation significantly and represent potential treatments for this dibeilitating disease. The discovery they made is now undergoing efficacy studies on marmosets at the University of Wisconsin.
