Research

Cody is working on the first clinical trial - a controlled feeding (pilot) trial - examining the effects of a high fruit diet on glycemic control in individuals with type 2 diabetes. He hopes to learn from and apply the rigorous nature of this study to someday investigate the effects of other plant food groups or diets on chronic diseases, namely type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease.

What are you planning to do after earning your doctoral degree?

Upon completion of my doctoral degree, I plan to obtain a post-doctorate fellowship, with the longer-term goal of becoming a nutrition professor and clinical researcher.

Any special interests, hobbies, or fun facts?

During my free time I enjoy resistance training, cooking, and playing sports, especially basketball and tennis.
