The MS in Nutrition Sciences program was designed to offer a comprehensive experience for students, including coursework and experiences in how to save lives, prevent disease, and improve quality of life.

Study the clinical side in the heart of Alabama’s top medical center surrounded by UAB Hospital, Birmingham VA Medical Center and Children’s of Alabama. Participate in multi-professional research initiatives in basic, clinical, and translational research at the UAB Cancer Prevention and Control Training Program or at any of three NIH-funded centers on campus: the Nutrition Obesity Research Center, the Diabetes Research Center or the Comprehensive Cancer Center.

Clinical Track/Dietetic Internship

Clinical Track/Dietetic Internship

This accelerated one-year online master’s program and in-person dietetic internship, based at one of four locations in Alabama, can prepare you to become an RDN.

Clinical Track – Prior Learning Option

Clinical Track – Prior Learning Option

Already an RD? This online program allows you to earn your master’s degree from anywhere in the country while you maintain your other life commitments.

Dietitian Education Program Pathways

Dietitian Education Program Pathways

This is a Coordinated Program in Dietetics that leads to a Master’s in Nutrition Sciences. Courses are all online, and supervised practice can be done anywhere in the U.S. Two visits to campus are required.

Lifestyle Management and Disease Prevention Track

Lifestyle Management and Disease Prevention Track

This online program will prepare you to provide basic nutrition education in the community. Combine it with a DEP-C to become an RDN.

Research Track

Research Track

Interested in a career in dietary research or education? This mentored program can prepare you to pursue a PhD in Nutrition Sciences.
