About the Study
The University of Alabama at Birmingham, Department of Nutrition Sciences, is conducting a 75-week research study to evaluate the effectiveness of an investigational drug to treat type 2 diabetes. In this trial you will receive one of two possible once weekly injectable medications – either (semaglutide/cagrlintide) CagriSema or Tirzepatide (Mounjaro) along with diet and exercise counseling. To qualify, you must be 18 years old or older and have Type 2 Diabetes. Qualified participants will receive study drug, diabetes counseling, EKGs, eye exams, and physical exams.
