LEAH Opioid SimAn interprofessional group of practitioners from around the United States participated in the Opioid Simulation on March 15. These practitioners are part of the Leadership Education in Adolescent Health (LEAH) Training Program supported by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) of the US Department of Health and Human Services.

There are three roles in this simulation - participants navigating life with addiction, being a healthcare provider responsible for making choices about resources in a resource-limited environment, and being a clinician providing care for people in active addiction and in recovery. The goals of the simulation are to 1) view opioid use disorder as a chronic relapsing disease for which there is treatment and recovery, 2) understand the role of stigma in opioid use disorder, and 3) understand the impact resiliency has on opioid use disorder. One participant remarked that they learned about "the complexity of addiction and treatment and the effect of stigma." Another shared she liked "learning from colleagues in other disciplines." Another stated "The flow and content were extremely valuable."
