OIPS collaborated with Alabama Possible in 2014 to lead and promote poverty simulations for students across a variety of health care and academic programs. Over the past 2 years the program has greatly expanded on the UAB campus. Currently, OIPS fully sponsors poverty simulations for over 500 students each semester with the help of 40 faculty and staff who have committed to being trained to facilitate interprofessional small group debriefings.

This semester OIPS will partner once again with Alabama Possible to host a poverty simulation at their annual Lifetime of Learning Conference. The conference will be held on October 7th from 9 AM - 3:30 PM at the UAB Hill Center. This year's theme is Engaged Learning as Justice Learning, and all UAB students, staff and faculty are invited to attend.
