Assessment & Planning

The Office of Student Affairs Assessment and Planning (SAAP) aims to cultivate a culture of assessment for the Division of Student Affairs, advance student affairs programs, services, and initiatives using assessment data, and guide data-driven decision-making and strategic planning.
SAAP creates Assessment Strategic Plans for the Division of Student Affairs, employs student development theories to guide assessment projects, and designs, develops, and implements research and assessment programs that align with the mission and strategic goals of the Division of Student Affairs.
SAAP assesses and evaluates programs and services based on external standards for benchmarking and accreditation. Additionally, it develops policy-oriented recommendations to implement strategies, improve programs, and enhance services for UAB students.
