Green Blazers for outstanding UAB Blazers: BMEN bestows new honor
The BMEN Peer Mentoring Program is designed to provide academic and social support to black male students entering UAB. Brandon Cohill, Garrett Stephens and Samuel Sullivan IV were awarded the inaugural green blazers for 2016 at the Blazer Male Excellence Network’s Undugu Male Gathering.

Free student tickets available for C-USA Tournament
Student Affairs is working with university leaders to provide free tickets to students with a valid Blazer ID on a first-come, first-served basis for UAB Women’s and Men’s respective games Wednesday at Bartow Arena and Thursday at Legacy Arena.

Use your Meal Plan or Dining funds to help fellow students
The UAB student organization Donor to Diner, along with UAB Campus Restaurants, will host its second meal donation event at the Commons on the Green. Donor to Diner allows students to donate a meal to benefit fellow Blazers facing food insecurity.

Allie David and Chirag Patel named winners of 34th annual Mr. and Ms. UAB Scholarship Competition
The winners of the Mr. and Ms. UAB Scholarship Competition, announced at the Hoops on the Haasephalt event, will each receive a $2,500 scholarship and serve as ambassadors of UAB in the coming year.

UAB students go into the streets to aid the Birmingham community
On Saturday, Oct. 24, more than 500 UAB students met at the Campus Rec Center before dispersing out into the city to participate in service projects. Into the Streets is put on by the Leadership and Service Council twice per year, in October and March.
