City and Colour, the recording alias of Canadian artist Dallas Green, performed acoustic ballads and electric guitar melodies to a sold out Iron City on Saturday, Jan. 16.

After an opening performance by Greyhounds, Green began his set with “Woman,” the sultry nine-minute single from his newest album “If I Should Go Before You.” Greene also performed a number of songs from his older albums, such as “Hello, I’m in Delaware” from his 2005 album “Sometimes.”

“Let’s turn your Saturday night into a Friday night. You got your dancing shoes on?” Green said before performing the upbeat track “Wasted Love.”

Green solicited the help of the audience to join him in singing “Lover Come Back,” also featured on “If I Should Go Before You.”

After numerous chants of “encore” from a fervent audience following his main set, Green returned with his back-up band to perform several more tracks, including his award-winning 2009 song “The Girl.”

Before closing out the show, Green thanked Iron City for its “beautiful” venue and hospitable environment.

“It’s always nice to come to a venue and be treated like you’re at home,” Green said.
