The Best Medicine Show packed the house with students and doctors alike at the Alabama Theater on Jan 29.
The Best Medicine Show sales will benefit Equal Access Birmingham this year as a way of giving back to the Birmingham medical community. This year's hosts Kathryn Cox and Connor Read guided the acts with witty banter as they introduced each class.
The show consisted of two acts, each with videos, live music, dance routines and monologues. A few of the short films featured guest appearances from the School of Medicine faculty. The medical students showed their creative sides with a “Straight Outta Compton” themed music video and interesting depictions from their personal snapchats.
The show highlighted different aspects of each stage of medical school that students, undergraduates and alumni could find humor in. The event was an entertaining and unique way to allow students to relax and step away from the pressures of schoolwork, if only for one night.
