USGA aims to represent the undergraduate student by advocating for student interests and empowering the student voice. USGA provide students with an opportunity to influence both their academic and social experiences at UAB. In order to accomplish their mission, USGA leaders work closely with UAB faculty and administration to propel both short and long term student goals. In addition to policy work, USGA serves an instrumental role in supporting and funding registered student organizations in order to develop and foster a more collaborative community at UAB.
UAB Graduate Students are represented by the Graduate Student Government (GSG). The GSG works closely with the Graduate School and other offices of the university administration in formulating policy and meeting student needs. All graduate students are automatically members of the GSG. The GSG senate is composed of student representatives from graduate programs. Students interested in getting involved with GSG should contact an officer or their school’s senator.
