• The UAB Pathfinders serve as a resource for any student or student organization seeking assistance in finding opportunities for campus engagement.The Pathfinders provide one-on-one consultations with students as well as workshops for larger groups. They additionally support student organizations as primary resources for Engage support and other organizational benefits.

    The UAB Pathfinders are a group of self-starters who strive to exemplify respect in each interaction we have. By prioritizing organization, we are able to dedicate our time to cultivating campus connections.

    We are a diverse group spanning multiple offices. We understand the importance of working together and being inclusive of different perspectives.

    We seek to connect students to on-campus and community-based opportunities. By understanding the available resources and utlizing our knowledge about involvement, we are able to help students actively participate in the UAB student experience.

    We are self motivated students who are deliberate and creative in our decision making.

    Wynter Burlock

    Wynter is a senior at UAB majoring in Psychology. Wynter has been involved as an Orientation Leader, a member of the Off-Campus Student Council, Blazers on Break, and the National Society of Leadership & Success. Wynter says, "Although my main focus has always been in the classroom as a student, I felt I was missing out on something. Once I decided to get involved, I noticed myself and my love for UAB grow! Through being involved, I have learned so much from understanding different personalities to successfully communicating important information to students. Being involved has truly showed me who I am and allowed me to leave my mark on UAB's campus”.     Kaitlin Burge

    In addition to being a Pathfinder, Kaitlin is president of her sorority, Alpha Xi Delta, and has enjoyed being a part of several other student and community organizations such as the Bioethics Bowl Team, UAB Best Buddies, Orientation Leaders and the Birmingham Crisis Center. Kaitlin also works as a student assistant on campus and at lululemon Birmingham and has previously worked in research labs. In her free time, you can find Kaitlin exploring Birmingham, running, and eating lots of sweets! Meet with Kaitlin to learn more about starting a new organization, using Engage, RSO resources, leadership opportunities, and fraternity and sorority life.

    A.J. Jarman

    A.J. is a junior majoring in Health Care Management from Hayden, AL. A.J. is involved in several organizations around campus outside of Pathfinders. He is a USGA Senator for the School of Health Professions, the Vice President of Communications for the Interfraternity Council, a member of the Off-Campus Student Council, and he served as the Recruitment Chair of the Alpha Tau Omega fraternity. A.J. has also worked as a Student Assistant for the Office of Off-Campus Student Services since his freshman year. In his free time, A.J. enjoys reading, running in Railroad Park, and most importantly, eating. Meet with A.J. to learn about Engage, Blazerpulse, leadership opportunities, and greek life.

    Mary Ann Jimenez

    Mary Ann is a junior majoring in Public Health. In addition to serving as a Pathfinder, she is also currently an Orientation Leader, a Resident Assistant for New Freshman Residence Hall, and a UAB Ambassador. In the past, she has served in the community through Blazers on Break, Children’s Hospital, and the Undergraduate Student Government Association. In her free time, she likes to show her “foodie” side and explore Birmingham’s coffee shops and restaurants!
