After reviewing the impact of reduced bus capacities on all Blazer Express bus routes, UAB Transportation is suspending the Purple, Gold, and North Green routes for the upcoming fall semester. The buses will be reassigned to more heavily used routes ensure adequate social distancing and timely service.
Additionally, due to no Blazer Express service and low permit sales, Zone C will be closed for the fall semester. We have contacted Zone C permit holders to provide them other options.
“Our first priority is ensuring the safety of our customers,” said André Davis, director of UAB Transportation. “We have been in constant contact with UAB leadership and have implemented several procedures to ensure safety while maintaining the level of service our customers expect.”
Along with reducing bus capacities to increase social distancing, UAB Transportation has enhanced cleaning protocols and require passengers to wear face coverings.
The remaining Blazer Express routes will continue on this schedule, Monday through Friday:
- Silver Route – 5:30 a.m. to midnight
- Blue Route – 5:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
- South Green Route – 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
- Effective Monday, August 24
