Sarah B. Rutland

Sarah B. Rutland (PhD 2019) is a Scientist I, in the Division of Pediatric Pulmonary & Sleep Medicine at UAB.

She works with scientists and clinicians in the division to identify social determinants of health among pediatric patients with pulmonary diseases such as cystic fibrosis using both quantitative and qualitative methods. She hopes to continue her research in identifying and addressing barriers to healthcare needs as young patients transition to adulthood.

Research Interests: Racial, Socioeconomic and gender health disparities, Sexual health, Effectiveness of patient-health care systems interaction
