Internships and Co-Op Opportunities

""Working in a professional internship or co-op can be one of the most rewarding and important experiences of your undergraduate education. While we do not require an internship or co-op as part of the undergraduate curriculum, we strongly encourage our students to participate in some form of experiential learning. It can help you decide where to focus your studies and provides invaluable work experience when looking for a job at graduation. Currently, about 85% of our students participate in an internship or co-op before graduation:

  • Co-ops typically involve three semesters spent working full time for an engineering firm, with alternating semesters as a full time student.
  • Internships are more flexible and can be in the form of a summer job, part-time employment while in school, or even full-time employment while taking a reduced course load.

We work with the Engineering Career Center to help students find the work opportunities that best suit them. Interns and co-op students typically earn $17 to $20 per hour.
