New Master's Program in Computer Forensics Approved
The Alabama Commission on Higher Education (ACHE) and the Board of Trustees of the University of Alabama System have approved a new Master of Science in Computer Forensics and Security Management (MSCFSM), sponsored jointly by Justice Sciences and the Departments of Computer and Information Sciences (College of Arts and Sciences), and Management, Information Systems, and Quantitative Methods (School of Business).  Designed to train students for careers in cybercrime investigation and security audits, the program consists of 36 sememster hours of credits divided into a set of core required courses and two tracks from which students may choose to specialize: Computer Forensics and Cybercrime Investigation or Security Management.   The program is now accepting students for Fall, 2011 admission into the program.  For more information, students may visit http://main.uab.edu/Sites/gradschool/programs/84338/.  Please direct questions to contact Dr. John Sloan (Justice Sciences; This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
