Appointment:Marshall IS Scholar & Assistant ProfessorDirector of Forensic Accounting ProgramPrior to obtaining his Ph.D. in Accountancy from the University of Mississippi in 1995, Singleton was president of a small value-added dealer of accounting information systems using microcomputers for eleven years. His education and experience are a mix of Information Technology (IT) and accounting. Singleton has earned his CISA, CMA, CPA, CITP, and CFS certifications. He has published numerous articles and made many presentations on subjects related to Information Systems (IS), IT and accounting. He is a member of several professional organizations related to IT/IS and accounting. Singleton was awarded the 1998-1999 Innovative User of Technology Award by the Alabama Society of CPAs. Dr. Singleton is a past president of the Muscle Shoals Chapter of the Institute of Management Accountants and has been a board member for the Gulf South Council for several years.
