Ms. Wheeler is a member of the Alabama State Bar who, before joining the UAB faculty, practiced law for twenty-five years, primarily representing major financial institutions in national and state class actions.  She has taught Restorative Justice and Entertainment Law as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Alabama School of Law and is a trained victim outreach specialist for capital cases.  As chair of subcommittees in the American Bar Association she has published articles on class action law, chaired panels, and delivered papers at a number of national Association meetings.  In addition to advising independent filmmakers on the legal aspects of film production, she has served as Producer and Executive Producer for an award-winning feature documentary on Kathryn Tucker Wyndham and has produced several short films.
