Louise T. Chow, PhD has been appointed as the holder of the Endowed Anderson Family Chair in the Medical Education, Research and Patient Care in the School of Medicine.

“UAB biotech startup wins $22,000 in Alabama Launchpad competition”

Our own BMG student, Michael Heaven, brought home $22,000 worth of funding for his company this week from the Economic Development Partnership of Alabama in a proof of concept competition Tuesday. Michael co-founded Proteomic Profiling Technologies with Archie Cobbs. He said the idea behind the company came to him during his biochemistry Ph.D. program at UAB. Mike’s mentor is Dr. Michael Brenner in the Department of Neurobiology.
