The 2024 Gorgas Advanced Course in Clinical Tropical Medicine will be held between July 1st and July 12th, 2024. Applications are now closed for 2024.

Eligibility

Applicants are required to hold a Medical Degree plus at least one of the following:

  • Diploma or Masters in Clinical Tropical Medicine or equivalent.
  • Two years of cumulative experience in the developing world in a setting where patients with tropical and parasitic diseases constitute the majority of the workload.
  • Substantial practice experience in the field of clinical tropical medicine since completion of training. Should include care of patients for the evaluation, diagnosis, or treatment of tropical and parasitic diseases.
  • Certification as an Infectious Disease Specialist after completion of a recognized training program.

Application process

The registration process for the Gorgas Advanced Course is on a first-come basis. 

Participants

Maximum of 20 participants.

Tuition

Tuition for the 2024 Advanced Course is $3,550 USD and includes daily transportation to the course location.

Accommodation

You are responsible for your own accommodation, but we strongly recommend that you request a hotel/ AirBnB or similar within the Miraflores area and close to Hotel Jose Antonio.

Transportation

Daily transportation to the course location daily activities is covered by the course organizers while in Lima. Buses will depart every day at 7 o’clock from the Hotel Jose Antonio Executive in Miraflores and come back from the Tropical Medicine Institute after finishing the afternoon sessions.

Travel

Participants are responsible for their own international flight arrangements. Pre and post-course excursions can be easily arranged with local operators.
