We are pleased to announce the addition of some outstanding clinical faculty to the UAB Division of Hematology/Oncology. We are fortunate to have attracted leaders in hematologic malignancies, bone marrow and stem cell transplantation and genitourinary malignancies. They join our existing exemplary group of physicians, whose expertise covers almost every tumor type and hematologic disorder known today.
Dr. Harry Erba from the University of Michigan is the new Director of the Hematologic Malignancy Program.
Dr. Shin Mineishi from the University of Michigan is the new Director of the Bone Marrow Transplantation and Cell Therapy Program.
Dr. Susmitha Nimmagadda is assistant professor of medicine. She will be joining Dr. Sonpavde at the UAB Medicine—Hematology/Oncology West Clinic.
Dr. Rita Paschal is assistant professor of medicine. Dr. Paschal will be focusing on benign hematology including coagulation and sickle cell disease.
Dr. Ayman Saad is associate professor of medicine. Dr. Saad will add significant strength in the areas of bone marrow transplantation and hematologic malignancies.
Dr. Guru Sonpavde is Director of the Genitourinary Malignancy Program. He will see patients at the UAB Medical Center campus as well as at the UAB Medicine—Hematology/Oncology West Clinic and the TKC at Acton Road clinic.
Dr. Chris Vaklavas is assistant professor of medicine. He will see patients at the Kirklin Clinic.
