Explore UAB

Our residents and fellows choose UAB for the patients who choose UAB. UAB Hospital makes Birmingham a destination for myriad diseases, disorders, trauma and complications; health disparities and lack of health care access in rural Alabama also give trainees across the state opportunities to treat patients with chronic illnesses.

Outstanding faculty mentorship is also important, and trainees benefit from a long history of world-renown physicians, scientists and educators.

More than 1,200 interns, residents and fellows train in every medical specialty at UAB in Birmingham, at our regional campuses in Montgomery and Huntsville, and in our programs in Selma.
