Dr. Joiner is a member of the UAB Glaucoma Service. He has an interest in treating complicated glaucoma cases, as well as teaching residents and fellows. He sees patients at the UAB Callahan Eye Hospital and at the clinic’s Vestavia Hills location.

He ran a successful glaucoma practice in the Birmingham area for more than 20 years before joining the department in 2013. Dr. Joiner is an active member of both the Alabama and American academies of ophthalmology.

A graduate of the University of South Alabama College of Medicine, Dr. Joiner interned at Carraway Methodist Medical Center in Birmingham and completed his ophthalmology residency at UAB. Dr. Joiner is fellowship trained in glaucoma from the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary.
