The Division of Pediatric Surgery's Dr. Colin Martin teaches a class of local high school students about pursuing surgical careers.

The UAB Department of Surgery offers educational opportunities for both high schoolers and undergraduates via our summer research programs. Our Pre-College Research Internship for Students from Minority Backgrounds and Surgery Undergraduate Research Experience provide promising high school and undergraduate students who are interested in careers in healthcare with hands-on research experience under the mentorship of UAB surgeons.
