UAB Computer Music Ensemble's Performance in Texas Streamed Live - Wednesday, February 13 at 6:30 PM CST Print E-mail

CME-014The UAB Computer Music Ensemble will perform at the Texas Music Educators Convention in San Antonio, Texas on Wednesday, February 13, 2013. Their performance will be the culminating activity of a day of technology-focused preconvention activities for musicians and music educators. The performance can be streamed over the internet at 6:30 PM CST via Livestream at http://livestre.am/4l1ah. The TMEA convention is the largest music education conference of its kind in the United States, drawing some 25,000 attendees from all over the country.

The UAB Computer Music Ensemble, under the direction of Assistant Professor Scott Phillips, PhD, performs original computerized, computer assisted, and electro-acoustic music. Members of the ensemble are students Will Brobston, Chris Humphries, RJ Jackson, Michala Mesler, Aubrey Mills, Kevin Peek, and Jeffrey Stahmer. 

Each semester the ensemble performs to standing-room-only crowds at venues on the UAB campus and in local schools.  Some of the music from their Texas show will be presented on the UAB campus during their spring semester concert April 26 and 27 at 7:30 PM in the Alys Stephens Center’s Odess Theatre.
