UAB presents Football 101 for Women on May 4

Ladies, learn the fundamentals of football with UAB Coach Garrick McGee and his wife Tiffany, complete with lunch and fun on the practice field.

The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) National Alumni Society will hold the second annual Football 101 for Women, on Saturday, May 4, 2013.

Hosted by UAB Head Football Coach Garrick McGee and his wife Tiffany McGee, the event is sponsored by BBVA Compass Bank. Ladies will gain insight on the X’s and O’s of college football from the UAB coaching staff. Last year, more than 80 people participated.

The day will begin at 9 a.m. at the UAB NAS Alumni House, 1301 10th Ave. South, with the fundamentals of the game, strategy used in game planning, player recruitment and the methods used to keep players strong and healthy. After lunch at noon, participants will go to the UAB practice field and run practice drills with the UAB coaching staff. On-field participation is optional. Participants are encouraged to wear or bring tennis shoes or sneakers.
