More than 200 students will participate in an All-Star Marching Band that will perform with the Marching Blazers during the UAB vs. Coastal Carolina University football halftime show, entertaining a crowd of thousands in Birmingham’s Legion Field Stadium. Kickoff is at noon Central time.

The event is open to all high school marching band members, including woodwinds, brass, percussion, color guard, majorettes, and dancers or drill team members. That morning, the participants will observe the Marching Blazers game day rehearsal, then rehearse as a mass band. The mass band will then perform later at the football game, including the Blazer Walk and pre-game performances as well as halftime.

All members of the All-Star Marching Band will receive a T-shirt commemorating the event, as well as admission to the football game, and lunch and drinks in the stands. Students will wear their school’s marching band attire for the performance, for a field covered in color and creating fabulous music, says Marching Blazers Director Sean Murray, Ph.D. For information, call the UAB Band Office at 205-975-2263.
