Join the Achieving Gender Equity in STEM’s 2022 spring symposium

The 2022 spring symposium will be held April 14 and will include speakers Jessie DeAro, Ph.D., and Devon W. Carbado, J.D.

adv streamThe Alabama ADVANCE Partnership for Achieving Gender Equity in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics is virtually hosting a 2022 spring symposium through a co-sponsorship with the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

The symposium will be held Thursday, April 14, at 9 a.m. and will feature speakers Jessie DeAro, Ph.D., the ADVANCE program director from the National Science Foundation, and Devon W. Carbado, J.D., a professor of law from the University of California, Los Angeles.

Other event co-sponsors and hosts include the University of Alabama in Huntsville, Alabama A&M University, Miles College, and Oakwood University.

The Alabama ADVANCE Partnership for Gender Equity was funded in fall 2019 as part of the National Science Foundation’s ADVANCE program. It is aimed at increasing the participation and advancement of women in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
