Support brain cancer research during the 11th annual Blazer Bolt 5K and fun run

The annual race will be held Saturday, May 18, at Railroad Park. A virtual option will be offered this year.

Stream Blazer Bolt 5kJoin the fight against brain cancer by participating in the Blazer Bolt 5K or fun run on Saturday, May 18, at Railroad Park.

Proceeds from the event will go to support brain cancer research and patient support services at the University of Alabama at Birmingham’s Division of Neuro Oncology and Children’s of Alabama’s Pediatric Neuro-Oncology Program.

The 5K and fun run will start at 8 a.m. and will be followed by a survivor walk at 9:20 a.m. Registration is open through April 19 to guarantee a race shirt. The event will include a virtual option to walk or run one’s own route.

The O’Neal Comprehensive Cancer Center at UAB will host a FamilyStrong brain tumor patient and caregiver meeting the day before the race at the UAB Hill Student Center. The meeting will provide updates to patients with brain tumors and their caregivers about the latest treatments, challenges and community support resources. This event will be from 10 a.m.-2 p.m., and lunch will be served.
