Alabama Launchpad opens second round of $100,000 competition

This is the first time in the Launchpad event’s eight-year history there will be back-to-back competitions.

launchpadThe Economic Development Partnership of Alabama Foundation opens a second round of their Alabama Launchpad Start-Up Competition. The event, which awards cash prizes up to $100,000, is open to teams with business plans in the pre-seed phase. Registration begins Monday, April 22, 2013, and ends Wednesday, May 22, 2013.

The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) produced past winners Proteomic Profiling Technologies, LLC, a biotechnology company founded by Michael Heaven in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Genetics, and inDegree, an alumni-tracking service led by Molly Wasko, Ph.D., chair of the Department of Management, Information Systems and Quantitative Methods.
