Six UAB faculty to be recognized for excellence

UAB faculty from several disciplines will be honored for excellence by a national society.

The UAB chapter of the National Society for Leadership and Success will honor six faculty during a ceremony to be held from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. April 20, 2012, in the Hill University Center.

The Excellence in Service to Students honor will go to Edwin W. Cook III, Ph.D., associate professor of psychology; Sandra K. Sims, Ph.D., associate professor of human studies; and Gitendra Uswatte, Ph.D., associate professor of psychology.

The Excellence in Teaching honor will go to Colin J. Davis, Ph.D., professor of history; Robin L. Fiedler, Ph.D., assistant professor of human studies; and Ian W. Knowles, Ph.D., professor of mathematics.

The keynote speaker will be  Dale Callahan, Ph.D., associate professor and director of the Information Engineering and Management graduate track in the UAB School of Engineering.
