The University of Alabama System Board of Trustees named Jay Goldman, D.Sc., Distinguished Service Professor Emeritus in the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) School of Engineering during its meeting June 14, 2013. Goldman joined UAB in 1984 as dean and professor and was appointed Distinguished Service Professor of Engineering and recognized as dean emeritus in 2001. In 2004 he received the Medallion Award from the Institute of Industrial Engineers for his impact on the industrial engineering profession.
Goldman named also dean emeritus of the School of Engineering.
