Allison honored for his work in gerontology

David B. Allison, associate dean for Science in the UAB School of Public Health, has been named a fellow of The Gerontological Society of America.

David-Allison-photo sDistinguished Professor David B. Allison, Ph.D., associate dean for Science in the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Public Health, has been named a fellow of the The Gerontological Society of America in the Biological Sciences Section.

Allison is one of 61 exemplary professionals named as the newest fellows of the GSA, the nation’s largest interdisciplinary organization devoted to the field of aging. The status of fellow — the highest class of membership within the GSA — is an acknowledgment of outstanding and continuing work in gerontology.

The new fellows will be formally recognized during GSA’s 67th Annual Scientific Meeting, which will be held from Nov. 5-9 in Washington, D.C.
