UAB Dentistry's Reddy presented R. Earl Robinson Periodontal Regeneration Award

The award is presented annually to authors of a peer-reviewed published paper that has contributed the most to the knowledge of periodontal regeneration in a given calendar year.

Michael Reddy, DMD, D.M.Sc., dean of the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Dentistry has been awarded the R. Earl Robinson Periodontal Regeneration Award for his research article “Platelet-derived growth factor promotes periodontal regeneration in localized osseous defects: 36-month extension results from randomized, controlled, double-masked clinical trial.”

The award was given at the 2014 Annual Meeting of the American Academy of Periodontology, which sponsored the honor. The article was published in the Journal of Periodontology Online in 2013.

Reddy also won the R. Earl Robinson Award in 2006.

The R. Earl Robinson Periodontal Regeneration Award was established to encourage research in periodontal regeneration, within the basic or clinical sciences. It is presented to the authors of the peer-reviewed published paper that has contributed most to the knowledge of periodontal regeneration in a given calendar year.
