The UAB University Transportation Center has given its Pioneer Award for Traffic Safety and Injury Control to Jim McClendon, O.D., a member of the Alabama House of Representatives for District 50. The UTC honored McClendon for his years of service as a legislator to improve safety for the countless Alabamians and others who travel the state’s roadways.
“Dr. Jim McClendon’s clarity of vision, tenacity and steady, goal-oriented leadership skills have provided a champion for passage of important highway and traffic safety legislation,” said Russ Fine, Ph.D., director of the UAB UTC.
