Digestive Health Center created at UAB

The center will be defined by interdisciplinary collaboration among UAB scientists, clinicians and educators with a goal of improving patient outcomes.

The University of Alabama System Board of Trustees approved the establishment of the Digestive Health Center at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) at its Feb. 8, 2013 meeting. The center will be defined by interdisciplinary collaboration among UAB scientists, clinicians and educators with a goal of improving patient outcomes. Charles Melbern Wilcox, M.D., professor and director of the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, and John D. Christein, M.D., associate professor of surgery, will serve as initial co-directors of the center.
