Psychology’s Goodin selected for NIH-funded Summer Research Program

Goodin, director of the UAB Biobehavioral Pain Research Lab, is a clinical health psychologist who specializes in pain-related behavioral medicine.

Burel Goodin, Ph.D., an assistant professor in the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) Department of Psychology, has been selected to participate in the 2013 Summer Research Institute in Geriatric Mental Health (SRI). The program, funded by the National Institutes of Health, brings post-residency, post-doctoral and early-stage investigators together to share research, information and resources.

Goodin, director of the UAB Biobehavioral Pain Research Lab, is a clinical health psychologist who specializes in pain-related behavioral medicine and was recently awarded a Future Leaders in Pain Research Grant by the American Pain Society. The SRI is July 21-26, 2013, at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Md.
