Vinik served as chief of anesthesia services for 16 years.
The University of Alabama System Board of Trustees named H. Ronald Vinik, M.D., as professor emeritus in the Department of Anesthesiology during its meeting June 15, 2012. Vinik joined the UAB faculty in 1976 and served as chief of anesthesia services at the Callahan Eye Foundation Hospital from 1989-2005.
