Curtis appointed first holder of rheumatology endowed professorship

He is co-director of the UAB Center for Education and Research on Therapeutics of Musculoskeletal Disorders and associate scientist in the UAB Center for Metabolic Bone Disease.
The University of Alabama System Board of Trustees established the William J. Koopman Endowed Professorship in Rheumatology and Immunology in the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) Department of Medicine and named Jeffrey R. Curtis, M.D., its inaugural holder during its meeting June 14, 2013. Curtis completed his fellowship in rheumatology at UAB and joined the faculty in 2005. He is co-director of the UAB Center for Education and Research on Therapeutics of Musculoskeletal Disorders and associate scientist in the UAB Center for Metabolic Bone Disease.
