The University of Alabama System Board of Trustees approved the conversion of the Regional Oncology Active Research (ROAR) Southeast Cancer Foundation Endowed Professorship in Radiation Oncology to an endowed chair in the University of Alabama at Birmingham Department of Radiation Oncology and named Eddy S. Yang, M.D., Ph.D., as holder during its meeting on Sept. 13, 2013. The chair was established through gifts from the ROAR initiative of the Southeast Cancer Foundation, matched by the University of Alabama Health Services Foundation. Yang is associate professor in the departments of Radiation Oncology; Cell, Developmental and Integrative Biology; and Pharmacology and Toxicology.
