Professor named outstanding alumnus

Butts Award for outstanding alumni of the science education program.Established in 1997, the David P. Butts Award is given annually to a UGA Science Education graduate in recognition of distinguished contributions to the field in teaching, research or service.

Meadows, a veteran educator, is noted for giving science teachers across the country the tools they need to excel in implementing inquiry-based science. He is the author of β€œThe Missing Link,” which shares ideas on approaching evolution in a way that may avoid hurt feelings and misunderstandings that can arise.
