Three UAB alumnae swept the statewide teaching awards presented by the Alabama Association of Foreign Language Teachers:

Breanne Seay Holland, a Spanish teacher at Highlands School, received the Outstanding Teacher Award K-12.

Malinda Blair O'Leary, Ph.D., assistant professor of Spanish at UAB, was given the Outstanding Teacher Award Post-Secondary.

Charli Lindley-Hamlin, a Spanish teacher at Thompson High School, was the recipient of the Promising New Foreign Language Teacher Award.
