The University of Alabama System Board of Trustees renamed the English as a Second Language teacher education program to the Master of Arts in Education Degree in English as a Second Language during its meeting April 8, 2011. The program is offered by the UAB School of Education in the College of Arts and Sciences. The program offers three tracks: traditional, alternative and international.
