Holly Richter, M.D., associate professor with the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at UAB, has been selected to participate in the Geriatrics Education for Specialty Residents Program, a component of the AGS/Hartford Foundation funded project: Increasing Geriatrics Expertise in Surgical and Related Medical Specialties.

BIRMINGHAM, AL — Holly Richter, M.D., associate professor with the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at UAB, has been selected to participate in the Geriatrics Education for Specialty Residents Program, a component of the AGS/Hartford Foundation funded project: Increasing Geriatrics Expertise in Surgical and Related Medical Specialties.

The GESR initiative supports curricular innovations at individual institutions by providing a two-year grant of $32,000 to support specialty-specific programs designed to increase education for residents in the geriatric aspect of their disciplines.

Richter was selected for the program because of the commitment demonstrated in her application to improving the quality of care for older patients.
