Storage of Samples
TMPL does not have unlimited refrigerated storage facilities. Once sample analysis has been completed and data shared with/returned to investigators, investigators will be asked whether they want the leftover samples returned to them. If yes, UAB investigators should come and collect the samples. There will be an option on the LIMS to record this action.
Non-UAB investigators will need to provide a shipping address and an account number for the transport of their leftover samples back to them by UPS.
Samples still in freezers six months after the completion of a project will be destroyed. Regular notifications by e-mail of this impending action will be made during the 6-month after completion of data analysis.
