Once upon a time, there was a majestic beast who ran a magical land within the state of Alabama. This beast was known as Blaze the Dragon. His skin was green, but his heart was pure as gold. Nothing could stop him from protecting his magical land that later became known as the “Magic City” otherwise known as Birmingham. This city had things that were more valuable than any gold that could be found in this world. This land had coal, iron, and lime stone. These were the three major materials needed in order to produce a living, thriving city.
            Settlers from all around the land came in search of these three materials in order to build a city of their own. However, they fell to realize that this land was already taken, and Blaze feared that these strangers would ruin his land. At first Blaze wanted to scare away these strangers, but he realized that if he got rid of these settlers that he would once again be lonely in this land of his. Blaze knew than what he must do, so he went to the campsite to make peace but when the settlers saw him they thought Blaze was a threat. The people began to run while others try to fight off Blaze with weapons, but Blaze did not want to hurt the settlers so he flew away into the woods.
            As Blaze sat there in the woods, he heard a cry. Blaze was alarmed by this and went to go check things out and saw a little girl crying because she has injured her foot playing. As Blaze approached the girl, he realized that she did not cringe in fear like the other settlers which surprised him. Blaze pick up the little girl and took her back to the campsite and flew back home to the woods. Little did Blaze know that the girl was the daughter of the leader.
            The next day the settlers went into the forest to find Blaze, Blaze was unsure what to do because he did not want to frightened the settlers again. When Blaze was about to fly away he felt a tug on his tail and he turned around and saw the little girl he helped the day before. The leader went up to Blaze and thanked him for helping his daughter and offered to make peace with him. Blaze agreed to allow the settlers to stay and use the materials in his land only if they agree to build him a mighty castle fit for a king. The settlers agreed to this compromise and the castle was completed in only a few years.
            This castle was the most beautiful castle in all the land. This castle was unlike any other castle in the world. This castle consisted of many buildings which housed it purposes. This castle had come to be known as UAB. And in this castle Blaze was finally able to live in peace and comfort. Blaze grew to love the humans and invited them to live alongside with him and these residents were known as the Blazers.

            Érase una vez, había una majestuosa bestia que tenía una tierra mágica en el estado de Alabama. Esta bestia era conocida como el Dragón Blaze. Su piel era verde, pero su corazón era puro como el oro. Nada podía impedirlo de proteger tierra mágica que más tarde se conocería como la “Ciudad Mágica” de Birmingham. Esta ciudad tenía cosas que eran más valiosas que cualquier oro que se podría encontrar en este mundo. Esta tierra tenía carbón, hierro y piedra caliza. Estos fueron los tres principales materiales necesarios para producir una ciudad próspera y viva.
            Los colonos de todo el país llegaron en busca de estos tres materiales para construir su propia ciudad. Sin embargo, fallaron en darse cuenta de que esta tierra ya estaba tomada, y Blaze temía que estos extraños arruinarían su tierra. Al principio Blaze quería ahuyentar a estos extranjeros, pero se dio cuenta de que si él se deshiciera de estos colonos que una vez más iba a estaría solo en esta tierra. Blaze sabía lo que tenía que hacer, así que se fue al campamento de los colonos para hacer las paces, pero cuando éstos lo vieron pensaron que Blaze era una amenaza. La gente comenzó a correr mientras que otros trataban de combatirlo con armas, pero Blaze no quería hacer daño a los colonos y se alejó volando hacia el bosque.
            Cuando Blaze se sentó en el bosque, oyó un grito. Blaze estaba alarmado. Fue a comprobar las cosas y vio a una niña llorando porque ella se había lesionado un pie cuando ella estaba jugando. Cuando Blaze se acercó a la chica, se dio cuenta de que ella no se encogiera de miedo al igual que los otros colonos, lo que le sorprendió. Blaze recogió a la niña y la llevó de vuelta al campamento y voló de vuelta a su casa en el bosque. Poco sabía Blaze de que la chica era la hija del líder de los colonos.
            Al día siguiente, los humanos entraron en el bosque para encontrar a Blaze. Éste no estaba seguro de qué hacer, porque no quería asustarlos de nuevo. Cuando Blaze estaba a punto de salir volando sintió un tirón en su cola. Se dio la vuelta y vio a la niña que había ayudado el día anterior. El líder se acercó a Blaze y le dio las gracias por ayudar a su hija y se ofreció a hacer las paces con él. Blaze hizo un acuerdo de permitir que los colonos permanecieran y utilizaran los materiales en su tierra¬ – pero sólo si ellos estaban de acuerdo con el construirle un imponente castillo real. Los colonos aceptaron este compromiso y el castillo se completó en sólo unos pocos años.
            Este castillo fue el más hermoso castillo en toda la tierra. Era diferente a cualquier otro castillo en el mundo. Consistía en muchos edificios que albergaban distintos propósitos. Este castillo llegó a ser conocido como la UAB. Y en este castillo Blaze finalmente fue capaz de vivir en paz y comodidad. Blaze llegó a amar a los seres humanos y los invitó a vivir juntos con él y estos residentes eran conocidos como los Blazers.
